From the Ikea website, found when looking for something to sleep on in the new place:

Erwin Schrödinger would be proud.

The German equivalent of the Oxford Dictionary has now added “wellnessen”.

As in, “to wellness”.

Also note that the German equivalent of the Oxford Dictionary is called “der Duden“.

So it seems that most companies were not aware that the new dashboard update for the 360 would bring a revamped Marketplace, including Genre texts for the Games section. I’d seen Amped 3 saying “Sell Text” before, but… well, see for yourself.

Sony Say Shovelling Their Own Grave Not Going Fast Enough, Buy Fleet Of Excavators

by outrider on Sep.24, 2006, under braindump

1up reports (emphasis mine):

According to the Famitsu inteview with Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo HD will have two SKUs on the PS3. One of these games will ship with no cars, all of them will be purchased via microtransactions.

The other, Gran Turismo HD: Premium, will ship with two courses and 30 cars, with an additional 30 cars and an additional two courses online at a later date.

[...]

A complete copy of the game will cost gamers somewhere between $426.50 and $975, and that’s without factoring in whatever Sony decides to charge for the menus (since that’s all you’ll get with GT HD: Classic).

Thought Bethesda had balls for their downloadable Oblivion content stunt? Think again.

WARNING: BRIDGET, redux

by outrider on Dec.17, 2005, under braindump

SFW thumbnailThanks to Meelar, I was able to find the image I was looking for. It didn’t look quite the way I remembered (and would’ve liked) it, so I applied some GIMP magic to have it end up like this (linked for borderline NSFW).

On a different note, I bought one of these a couple days back. It rocks, and now I can pretend getting a face full of alien wing-wong as often as I like.

The packaging even has a CHOKING HAZARD warning printed on the front, which gives it extra points for unintentional comedy.

The Game That Wasn’t There

by outrider on Dec.24, 2004, under braindump

I just bought the PS2 version of Frank Herbert’s Dune off eBay a couple days ago and just wanted to add it to my Mobygames Have List.I noticed that the PS2 version wasn’t registered at MG, so I started off to add it. When looking for the release date, I’ve found that every major gaming site I can find claims that the PS2 version has been cancelled or not released. Nevertheless, I hold right here in my hands a German PS2 version of it.

Waht.

Also, Merry Christmas :)

Update 2007-04-09: all three sites have added release info by now. I swear, they all said “cancelled” or “unreleased” back then.

Conspiracies, schmonspiracies

by outrider on Aug.25, 2004, under braindump

Korean Air uses the IATA designator code KE.

Also, there’s a former Finnish Formula 1 driver by the nickname of “Keke” Rosberg. Apparently, Korean online gamers are deeply involved in the Finnish conspiracy for world domination.

That is all.

Actually, it isn’t. DVD Box Office shipped my long-awaited copy of Tales of Symphonia today. Hooray for Canada o/
