Don’t be such a manipulative bitch. If you post a screenshot, don’t cut the “West Germany: 18″ out ;P

As suggested by the headline, it’s not intended to be EXCESSIVELY serious.

However, do note that the 18+ rating in Germany was before the 1995 re-rating and it’s been 16+ ever since. Whereas in the US it was just rated down from “porn” to “17+ only”.

Note that R is also one of the two MPAA ratings that are legally binding. The movie currently is “adults only” in every country (listed on IMDB) aside from Germany, Italy, Sweden and Iceland. And in quite a few of the current “adults only” countries, it was re-rated to LOWER than its original rating at some point.

My basic point stands unchanged: people who think the German government bans movies and forces game publishers to turn blood green and insert robots annoy the fuck out of me, because it’s at best wildly inaccurate and at worst just plain idiocy.

What happened to AO2 in Germany? No release as recently usual, or indexed/cut?

More up-to-date hilarity: the Watchmen movie received an R (17+) rating in the US, an 18+ in the UK… and 16+ in Germany.
